Structure

The Present Perfect tense is formed using “have” or “has” followed by the past participle of the verb.

  • Affirmative Form:
    • Subject + have/has + past participle
    • Example: She has eaten breakfast.
  • Negative Form:
    • Subject + have/has + not + past participle
    • Example: They have not finished their homework.
  • Interrogative Form:
    • Have/has + subject + past participle?
    • Example: Have you seen that movie?

    We use the Present Perfect to talk about actions that happened at some point in the past but are relevant to the present.

  2. Life Experiences:

    It is often used to express experiences up to the present.

  4. Continuing Situations:

    The Present Perfect is used for situations that started in the past and continue to present.

  5. Recent Events:

    It can indicate that something has happened recently, often with the words “just,” “already,” or “yet.”

    • They have completed the project.

  • Negative:
